How deep are these slices? The software I have access to makes estimating the depth a little challenging. If, however, the top 3 slices represent the ploughsoil, which is probably about 30cm think, I would guess that each piece has to do with 10cm and we are just getting down about 80cm in total.
Fortunately for us, most of the websites we are interested in lie simply below the plough zone, so it'll do! How does this compare to the other methods? Magnetometry, as gone over above, is a passive strategy determining regional variations in magnetism against a localised absolutely no value.
